Perinatal Mental Health Support
The most common complications of pregnancy and birth are various mood disorders. Perinatal mood disorders can affect individuals at various times during the period so finding a person trained to help is key for treatment. Alyssa completed her Perinatal Mental Health Certification (PMH-C) through Postpartum Support International (PSI) in Spring of 2024. Learning that 75% of people do not get the care they deserve to treat a maternal mental health disorder (and almost being part of this statistic) was the impetus for Alyssa to certify as a professional able to support pregnant and postpartum people.
There is no right way to feel about pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum, and parenting so having a nonjudgemental provider is key. When working with Alyssa you have not only an unbiased resource but the perspective of a doula, feeding counselor, educator, and parent. If you hesitate reaching out for payment purposes, please don’t—we are happy to work out a method of payment or to connect you with wonderful resources who take insurance.
Each session is an hour long and can take place either in your home, a private space in the community, or virtually.
Invisible Thread is private pay (but we want these services accessible) so please reach out for pricing
